Make a Beer Knot “Big Bight” Door Anchor

https://talenfeld.com/photos/beer.mp4

To create a strong door anchor or handle loop, consider the beer knot. Simply tie an overhand knot, slide one end into the other, and then work the knot over the embedded webbing. No special tools needed—a sharpened pencil will do! Just make sure you’ve buried enough webbing (6″ should be adequate for the 1″ tubular webbing shown). Unlike the water knot, which can slip over time, the beer knot becomes more secure under load and preserves most if not all of the webbing’s strength (!)

Two “Big Bight” door anchors from 26″ of 1″ tubular webbing.

A 26″ length of webbing on this door produces a 4″ loop from which to anchor your straps. Here’s one way to attach your door anchors to loop-end straps.
